Look at the admitted student profiles for the schools your kid is interested in. My humanities-focused kid is very interested in Wesleyan, where they make a point of noting that 86% of admitted students have taken calculus (https://www.wesleyan.edu/admission/apply/class-profile.html). So clearly they value it and are signaling that they prefer students who have taken it. That has helped my kid with the decision to take Calculus AB next year.[/quote]
