Nice try but not only did my child contract covid last school year while everyone was masked, but both of my kids caught colds this year while wearing masks.

Uh, good masks cannot be washed. If you are wearing cloth masks, you are getting a fraction of the protection of a proper mask, and children wearing cloth masks at school get even less because their masks get damp quickly.

But then, my kid doesn’t mask at school unless she is still recovering from something or there is something circulating. So she’s masking now, with a KN95. Still got whatever respiratory virus is out there. Masks are useful tools but (1) I personally think it’s bad for kids to wear them all the time, and (2) they don’t eliminate illness.

Telling someone whose kids got sick despite masking that they must not be masking hard enough is toxic displacement of your health fears onto other people. And not just anyone, but specifically parents, especially mothers, who have have spent the last two years trying to keep their kids healthy and safe. Just stop.[/quote]
