They already told you they're not paying. I have no idea whether you can take him to small claims court or not, but even if you do "win", will you have really won? You will have missed a day of work, you neighbors are now your enemies (they probably are anyway, given your behavior), and everyone in the neighborhood will know what a jerk you are. Your DH is right - let it go. [/quote]
