Gradating from suburban public class of 260 seniors. Male, 3.89 UW, Latino, Not taking SAT until 3/23 but guessing will be in the 1200-1300 range. JV/Varisty sports all four years, 3 APs, 8 honors, works PT, some volunteering but nothing Earth shattering. Unsure about major so not sure about specific programs in terms of applications. Full Pay Interested in these schools: Alabama Florida State University UofSC NC State U Miami Clemson UT Austin ASU Auburn LSU SMU (Southern Methodist) UGA U. Florida TCU Baylor UNC Charlotte
Almost no chance for admission to the University of Texas at Austin as Hispanic/Latino representation is at or above 25% (an over-represented minority) and only 8% of the student body is from out-of-state. No chance based on shared data for the University of Florida which is very similar to situation at the Univ. of Texas at Austin. NC State will be a reach as only 12% are non-residents. Univ. of Georgia is a reach. Assuming an SAT score of 1300 and class rank below top 10%, applying to the Univ. of Georgia, Univ. of Florida, and the Univ. of Texas at Austin is an absolute waste of time & money. Not even a five (5%) chance of admission at any of these universities. About 5% chance at NC State. The good news is that your son should be accepted at many great schools such as TCU (which one website states that TCU has the most attractive female students of any university in the country), Baylor (which seems to be growing in popularity due to excellent sports programs), UNC Charlotte, LSU, Auburn, Alabama, ASU, & South Carolina. FSU, Miami, and SMU are reaches.
Super helpful post until this one WTF comment. Makes the rest of what you said worthless because now you seem clueless. (Not OP).
No, it just makes you seem rude & insecure. Sorry if my post offended you.
I'm not offended, I'm grossed out. It's super creepy that you think rating female students by attractiveness should be a thing, and insulting to OP's son that you think he'd consider that. Also, how on earth does my calling you out make me seem "insecure"? You aren't sorry, you are doubling down. Reflect and do better.
When I think of things that are “super creepy”, rating female attractiveness most certainly does not make the list. It’s most definitely a thing. Wake up from your woke stupor.
