Not the PP, but my kid got a tick this summer in VA on his shoulder, by his neck.  He wasn’t crawling through the woods or anything.  We thought maybe it dropped on his shoulder somehow?   Guess he could have run into a branch?  [/quote]

They don't necessarily bite immediately. They crawl on you until they find a good latching spot, often someplace warm like at a joint, armpit, groin, neck where it bends...

Lots of ticks in the DMV area. People get them from their dogs or in their backyards, so I would not avoid Maine because of ticks.[/quote]
