I was a school test coordinator last year and we were told at training for MCAP that scores wouldn't be available until January because the format was new and they needed to standard setting to determine what scores were considered proficient, not proficient, etc. I agree with others - the test IS trash. The amount of time spent planning for testing and then stopping class and intervention groups just to give 8 sessions of testing at the elementary level is utterly ridiculous. We can do MAP in a day and get real time data to make instructional decisions for our students. [/quote]
