It seems human would spend lots of money, time and efforts on care of their dogs but not so much on their elderly. In an ideal world, we can do both but in a world with limited resources, do we have right priorities?[/quote I thought that a huge percentage of health spending is incurred in the last stages of a person's life. I don't think that is true of dogs. In our case, we decided that our dog no longer had a good quality of life and that we should let her go. She was 15. We didn't subject her to chemo, scans, expensive medications. She left us outside under the cherry tree in under ten minutes thanks to a travelling vet. In her whole happy life, we didn't spend as much on her as we did on a family member's 2 day hospital stay.
