whats the big deal? prostitution is not an "affair", it is legal there and the girls are gorgeous. Any guy not taking advantage would have a screw loose.
Because the secret service and military guys are prohibited from engaging in conduct that is illegal in the US even if it's legal in the country they are in. They are also prohibited from engaging in conduct that is legal in the US but illegal in the country they're in. Whether it's legal or not, prostitution or an affair, they're not allowed to have sexual relations with foreign nationals without prior approval from their supervisors. There are many reasons why those are the rules - and they are significant reasons which is why it's a far bigger deal in their line of work than if they were private citizens. In addition to rules violations, the conduct brings great shame to them, the offices they represent and, therefore, the US government. Can you not imagine how security was compromised by their behavior? They weren't there for a pleasure trip, they were there to assure the safety of the President. This is a major failing.
