Just keep an open mind about the whole thing. That doesn’t mean heartbreak either. A school may come out of the shadows and be your best bet. I must say that unless your top 20 player, you will be disappointed come 9-1. The phone calls are not “through the roof” only for the top players and they know who they are. Lots of random emails. From schools that are not even Div 1 but lower level D2 or D3 schools. But maybe there is more room to move with these schools in terms of money and benefits(R&B) Keep your schedules open but don’t plan too far in advance. Some schools have a recruiting culture and if your a part of it dont get your hopes up too high. Move on. Some schools are actively building programs and offer lots, and others have laid back on their laurels and don’t care to have a competitive team. You will discover this. Also you will discover that golden programs aren’t not so golden underneath. Good luck and keep an open mind and be that diamond!
Really? Top teams are laid back on their laurels and dont care to field competitive teams? Sounds like they were not interested in your DD? That is just not an accurate statement.
I hate people who bring semantics into everything - but I said OTHERS. I’m not talking about top 25 teams (I don’t even want to say that many) but some programs are just lazy at recruiting and take some things for granted. They get a team of smart girls (which is really what it’s all about anyway) and then turn around and have yet another dud of season. Just watch. And also I still think everyone here is expecting their phones to fly off the hook. If you know your teams standing, great. But just take it all with a grain of salt. Also you’ll get lots of spam from schools you’ve registered as a recruit with regarding “future camp dates!” Try to differentiate whether it’s personal or not Good luck.
