No part of Southern California is socially conservative.  Pretty much everyone, including the most conservative politicians, are pro-choice, pro gay marriage, pro equality.  This is California!  Newport Beach is relatively progressive.

I wish this was true. I live in South OC, and depending on the area, it can be VERY socially conservative. Laguna Beach is not, and Newport Beach also isn't. (Newport has more fiscal conservatives, social progressives.) Inland South OC, can be very socially conservative and some are quite judgmental especially if you aren't religious.[/quote]
