Gee, maybe she loves him! The mother of my half sister (now 22) is only 3 years older than I am. She and I get along fine and my sister and I have a great relationship. My own mother treats her like one of the family. OP, I think that you are being a bit bitter. The only thing you shoud be worried about is whether she will be good to your kids. I find it telling you are surprised that a 24 yo would want to marry your ex. Having regrets perhaps?
Um when most women are 24 they are busy chasing around other hot 24 yr olds, not old men! An old geezer like that would have made my skin crawl, maybe its because I'm not into fucking guys as old as my dad?
46 is not an old geezer! It's not like he's 80! For those who can't see how this woman could possibly be interested in him, let me lay it out for you, trying to be as respectful to OP as possible: he just got out of a 21 year marriage. He is probably acting pretty damn carefree right now- he's divorced, he's got a young woman interested in him. He's probably a lot of fun right now. He takes her out to nice dinners, because he can afford to, and at 46, actually has taste. He is smart and has conversations with her. He is SO INTO HER because he's 46 and out of a long marriage and can't believe a 24 year old is interested in him, so right now, she feels like a queen. The kids obviously like her, so she thinks it's cute and fun when they're around and has no idea that when she's their stepmom, it might actually be serious and hard sometimes. And eventually, the OP's husband will settle down again and get back into the routine of being a 46 year old married dad- and maybe she can handle that and will be fine with it, but maybe she won't. But she doesn't see that right now. She sees a charming guy who adores her and worships her and she's the cool stepmother figure and it's gonna be awesome and great and they're gonna be a happy family. She thinks, Oh, I'll never have to work through the kinks of training a young guy- this one is trained. He has a career, and is obviously a family man. He will be a great dad when we have a child, and my child will have built in siblings already. I will always be his young hot wife on his arm, and he will never tire of me.
I am 38. My EX is 32. His DS is 48. Our DS is 8 mos. So yes, 46 can be a little on the old side
