This Counselor was allowed to continue working for 2 years probably because the case did not make its way through the court system in a way that would lead to FCPS being notified of an offense. That is a problem. I don't think that every Teacher would report such an arrest but it is a potential hole in the system. [/quote]

Teachers are required to report offenses (and all the counselor's colleagues are mandated reporters so if they knew anything about it they would be required to report it too).  But the thing is an offense like this would be immediate termination and never getting hired as a counselor so he might have thought the best thing to do is tell no one and ride it out as long as possible until his case gets flagged.[/quote]
