Haha you must be old yourself if you don’t realize so many wealthy young women (teens, early 20’s) wear Chanel bags. I wouldn’t call them the greatest investment but you can sell a Chanel for more than you bought it for 3-5 years later. They can’t. Chanel increased the prices of their classic flap bags 2 times a year (sometimes 3). Price increases are between 10-15 % each time. If you purchased a bag 10 years ago, you can resell it for at least double the price.[/quote]

Only if it looks brand new.  I realize some people buy the Chanel bags to resell and make money, as a business.  Otherwise, I don’t understand why you would drop 10k on a bag you are only going to use once per yr or so in order to keep it absolutely pristine.  If I were to buy a Chanel, I think it is only worth it (if you aren’t making a business out of it) if you are going to actually use it regularly.  Sure, not daily or even weekly. But a bag like that deserves to be enjoyed and used- not sit in your closet because you are afraid of a scratch and thus lowering resale value.

So OP, here is my advice: get the flap bag, black calf leather with gold hardware- classic, goes with everything, and so much prettier than the caviar leather.  Be sure to use and it enjoy your purchase.  Yes it will show wear, it is the patina of life.  Just be ok with that and carry on [/quote]
