But I also believe that responsible gun ownership and use does have a place in our society.

And, while I actually agree with the theory of many conservative ideals (fiscal responsibility, less government intrusion on personal lives), I don't believe the Republican party actually practices the ideals that they claim. The hypocrisy of screaming "no mask mandates! personal freedom!" while denying basic health decisions to others, or claiming special religious privileges while denying the same to people of other faiths, or claiming fiscal responsibility while dropping taxes and driving up defense spending, or I could go on and on .... I get angry at the right for claiming one thing that sounds good but doing the complete opposite.  But the basic ideals, in many cases, don't turn me off.[/quote]
