I’m a -9.5 with a pretty bad astigmatism as well. I tried the cooper vision contact but did not feel they were as comfortable as the Air Optix. I can wear them about 16 hours a day with no problem.
Maybe I will see if my eye doctor has samples of these. I tried the Oasys dailies but they were blurrier than MyDays. That was just as I was transitioning from RGP, though. Now that I've been in soft contacts for a while, I should try the others again... Also, this is a bit of a tangent, but if any of you have kids, there are therapeutic contacts for kids 8-12 that are FDA approved for reducing myopia. My DS actually got them at 7 because his eyes jumped from -1 to -3 in a year and the eye doctor said he should start ASAP. He had no change in the first year of wearing. His second year visit is in a few months, and I would be surprised if it moved more than -0.5.
Did you try both sizes (8.5 and 9.0)? I had the same issue with blurry vision when I first transitioned to ACUVUE when the doctor assumed I would need the same size as the previous brand. But it turned out the contacts were too big so I had to go with the smaller size.
