Original question is still unanswered. Did anyone receive any emails on acceptance in VA this year? When can we expect the acceptance email and orientation? If your answer is to call or hang tight, please save that time for yourself. If you are going to online bully anyone asking these questions. Please refrain.
Took 2 seconds too Google: https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/virtualacademy/news-index/fy23-application-launches/ "Students who have never attended the Virtual Academy, OR who did not finish the year at the Virtual Academy in June 2022 must submit an application through ParentVUE as early as possible. The Virtual Academy will send acceptance notifications to new enrollees in August 2022"
What about students who have attended the VA? Don't they have to submit the application?
Sheesh. It's literally in the first paragraph: "The Montgomery Virtual Academy, a full-time virtual learning program for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12, is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year. Students interested in the program are required to apply for admission and must be approved to participate. (Students currently enrolled in the Virtual Academy do not need to reapply)"
This is misleading. Do you know whether they asked current students to apply?
Students currently enrolled in the Virtual Academy (the “current students” in your question) do not need to reapply. So no, they did not ask them to apply. Any student attended the VA at the end of last school year will be automatically enrolled in the VA this year. So those people will automatically be notified when the orientation date has been set, because they’re already enrolled. And, as per multiple posts above, new applicants (those who were not attending the VA at the end of last school year) will be notified in August about the status of their application. At that time, those who were accepted will be notified about the orientation.
