DP. I read this as noting that Blair has spent about 5 million of his own money on this election. That’s in addition to the over 5 million that he spent on the last election. What exactly is this candidate with no prior government experience hoping to get for his money? I have the same question for whoever is funding the superPAC.

Spending $10 million (last time plus this time) or even *just* $5 million to "buy" a county executive position is asinine.  There is not enough ROI if that is indeed his MO, there's no logic, it's worse than flushing money down a toilet.  I think Blair genuinely cares and thinks Montgomery County has so much potential based on its past successes and can do way better going forward.  He (and many others judging from his polls and his 77 vote loss last time) are tired of hearing and experiencing the echo chamber that is Montgomery County local politics.  [/quote]
