That's about it. I'm pretty happy with the balance we strike between structure and unstructured time. I think kids get a ton of structure during the school year and that it's healthy to use the summer to teach them to be bored and to entertain themselves.

We limit TV access and DD does not have a device, so we don't worry about her just sitting around playing games or watching TV. She's never had lots of screen access so it's not hard to limit it. In the summer we mostly use it to facilitate breaks for ourselves during vacations. [/quote]
