Thread: [twitter]https://twitter.com/ChadPergram/status/1537932025964900353[/twitter] Story: The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of staffers with CBS's "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" after they allegedly illegally entered a U.S. House of Representatives office building on Thursday night, Fox News has learned. The group of nine people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building after being escorted out of the Jan. 6 committee hearing earlier in the day because they did not have proper press credentials, according to sources. The same group resurfaced later on Thursday night after the Capitol complex was closed to public visitors and Fox News is told that they took videos and pictures around the offices of two Republican members of Congress, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy R-Calif. and Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo. A senior source in the U.S House of Representatives told Fox News that nine individuals associated with Stephen Colbert's show were arrested: Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Robert Smigel, Josh Comers, David Feldman. https://www.foxnews.com/us/us-capitol-police-arrest-stephen-colbert-staffers-house-office-building-charged-illegal-entry?test=887d9b520bdb9cda9c4ff18e3bf722ad
They should have had trump signs and fought with the Capitol Police. My guess is the group did not have enough white men…so they were arrested.
My guess is that the Capitol Police are no longer going to humor anyone, regardless of their White count.
I’d wait for the whole story. This got picked up by right wing propaganda outlets suspiciously quickly. Like it was a set up, a political arrest. We know there are right wing elements within the Capitol Police, we all saw the images of the Capitol Police officers who just opened the barriers for the insurrectionists and those who posed for selfies with the insurrectionists as their patriotic colleagues were being assaulted as they fought to save the country.
This is grossly inaccurate. […] Stop making baseless accusations about the capitol police. It's disgusting behavior given what they have already had to put up with from the public.
Gee, you sure are sensitive. I posted upthread that this had already been put on the Daily Mail website despite it being 3 am there and it not actually being an important story. Jesse Watters “broke” (should we call it “breaking” when it’s basically a false flag?) the story practically as it was happening. This is coordination between right wing propaganda, the Capitol Police and high level elected GOP. That’s not baseless accusation, that’s just looking at reality.
Not an important story? Way to downplay a breach of our federal government. Are you writing from Moscow?
You’re a Republican. Why don’t you ask all the people in your party who push Moscow’s talking points (Tucker)? Why don’t you ask all the Republican senators who spent the Fourth of July and the anniversary of 9/11 in Moscow? Honey, sweetie, no. You really don’t understand that this was a coordinated effort to give you sad little regressives something to try to both sides about? You think they wandered in with their cameras with no permits and no permission? And news of it just happened to land simultaneously on Jesse Watters’ desk and every other right wing outlet including overseas? Honey. You’re being played.
I believe the capitol police's account of the story. They told the crew to leave and they didnt. At that point, the crew was trespassing. They dont get a pass for being liberal.
Not when it was a political point by the right wing elements in our country. You’re really tied to pretending that that’s not what this is, but it is. And let’s remember how the Capitol Police were on 1/5, shall we? There are heroes on the Capitol Police staff and those who probably belong in prison for sedition.
