TJ Junior, female, Non URM, fun, creative, outspoken, loves challenges, resilient, kind. Most of the kids there are STEM kids, while she is more interested in humanities and arts. Some of her stats: GPA (4.49 as of today), 8 AP (+4 in senior year), most rigorous coursework, national level awards, varsity sport captain, athletic award, passionate volunteer throughout high school. She prefers a small/medium sized college, no greek life, in a suburb. She's pretty much decided on her reach and safety schools but needs help on a few target schools. Any suggestions? Oh, we can't afford full pay for elite schools so she'll need some financial aid. Thanks a lot for your time!
Sounds a lot like my DD, though we can afford it and feel it's appropriate to do so (not going for merit etc.). In her case, very cause-driven with national publications and NGO / Hill work instead of the athletics. Targets were HSLACs, and she has no patience for Greek / Bro Culture. Applied to ten schools, including two ivies, three HSLACs, a couple of seven sisters schools and a couple of safeties along with a wild card (St. Andrews). Admitted to seven, including one ivy. Selected Bryn Mawr and very, very happy about it.
