Walk - Walk - Walk With my 1st and 2nd I walked at least 5 miles the days that I went into labor.
Yup this. Per the advice of my acupuncturist, I also talked out loud to the baby. “I’m ready for you. You have a clean bed, clothes, and I wiped out the fridge. I bought you diapers yesterday!” It was very cathartic, and my acupuncturist said that the baby will not come until it knows and feels that you are completely ready. I was surprised when I was walking and talking how much I let go of any of my internal worries. It is one of my fondest memories, walking and walking for miles and miles talking to my precious baby.
This is so stupid.
DP here and agree it wouldn’t have worked for me. But it helped the original poster cope and so was not dumb at all for her. +1 That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. My 2nd kid came in the middle of a move, on top of a stressful job situation and some family issues going on...none of this "baby will not come until it knows and feels you are completely ready" mumbo-jumbo.
+2. I was ready way before 41w when I finally had to get induced and had a traumatic induction and emergency c. Sometimes your body and your baby do not, in fact, know what's best
