Only in America. The reason this does not happen in wealthy democratic European and Asian nations is that they have strict gun control laws!!! Gun control. Time to behave like civilized country already.
This does happen in other countries.
I’m French and I’ve lived in many European countries plus some Asian ones. THE USA IS ***BY FAR*** THE DEVELOPED COUNTRY WITH THE MOST FIREARM DEATHS PER 1M RESIDENTS. IT IS PROVEN BEYOND ALL DOUBT THAT THIS IS DUE TO ITS GUN CONTROL LAXITY, WHICH DOES NOT EXIST IN ANY OTHER DEVELOPED COUNTRY. You can pull up a chart from the internet. The data is public.
American here. Agreed. Watching Fox news and the refrain is (of course) - 'its not the gun's fault, its the person who held the gun'. Here's a thought? Take the assault weapons out of the individual's hand. If you allow a person to handle weapons of war, they should be charged prohibitive insurance per weapon and if their registered assault weapon is used in a offensive mass shooting - every adult registered in their household should be charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
It's interesting to see how many of you are just ignoring this was a racist attack do you can have your gun debate and political affiliation shouting matches. 10 people are dead tonight because of the color of their skin.
PP here. I'm not ignoring it. He's a white supremacist and is already been charged under the federal hate crimes law which can bring a death sentence. I think that's appropriate. State and legislative leadership is not shying away from the fact that this is a racially-motivated and a racial hate shooting. Unlike the mass shooting in Georgia when neither the local community nor the state pushed for federal hate crime charges.
