why wouldn't it catch someone on cocaine? 
And if a company has a morality clause in their contract which states 'no weed', well, they can test for it. It's still a federal crime as well.  Off limits for government workers in all forms.[/quote]

because cannabis is the only common drug that can be detected up to 30 days after use. All of the others (alcohol, cocaine, heroine, etc..), you just have to stay clean for a couple of days before your test and you will pass. [/quote]

Except you get a notice and have to take a drug test within 48 hours. So unless you're the type of druggie who doesn't do 'hits' for weeks at a time...you'll be caught.[/quote]

The point that usually goes right over the heads of most ignorant drug testing advocates is that Cannabis use is commonly only occasional and “off the clock” (aka no “hits for weeks at a time”) and will get you fired yet using much more dangerous drugs at the same rate will not show up on a drug test. That seriously undermines the justification that drug testing is necessary for workplace safety or performance. Smoking cannabis on a weekend camping trip three weeks ago shouldn’t get me fired from my job while my coworker doing coke on a business trip flys under the radar.[/quote]
