I recently attended a college admissions event with panelists from 3 schools. All of them said that if there are two kids with all things being equal and one has recs where the teachers clearly know the kid they’re going to take the kid with the better (less generic) recs. You can hire the best college consultant there is and this will still be a problem. [/quote]
