So many people trying to tell an experienced reporter how to do her job! Get over yourselves. Caitlynn does an excellent job sharing information that MCPS doesn't share well. She digs deep, finds answers when she can, and keeps asking when she cannot. MCPS is a huge challenge and I find Caitlynn manages them well. No one else is covering MCPS (occasionally when a huge story, we get a brief Donna St George story in the Wash Post), and I am grateful for her work.
+1 She is a local reporter covering our local school system. The only hope of fixing problems in MCPS is media coverage. If all she did was rewrite press releases, then there would be no need for interviews of parents, students, and MCPS staff. There would be no need to report on the opposing opinions to the PR MCPS wants to spin. MCPS is in a crisis and there’s pet projects galore wasting valuable tax dollars while staff are leaving the school system in droves. There needs to be more transparency in the decision making processes. There needs to be more oversight and questioning by the Board of Ed. We need more reporters covering these issues not less.
