There is a false sense of security that this variant has brought. Mild symptoms, recover, and get on with your life. The unknown long term effects on cognition and respiratory capacity are factors few think about. More is being published about these and other effects on the body.
And there are already articles being published about the severe and widespread mental health outcomes from overly isolating people during this pandemic. It must stop. Wear a mask if you are still clinging to covid fear.
Very few people have isolated the entire time. But, we mostly have and we are fine in terms of mental health. Covid is a far greater risk to us due to health issues than mental health. Many people have untreated mental health issues regardless of covid and blame covid but covid is not to blame. But, covid is far from being done with us.
Mental health should be a priority. Over worrying about a virus when you are vaccinated is not good. Dismissing the effects of creating a weird world for kids where they do not see faces is strange. Science has told us that basically everyone is getting this at some point. Make sure you are vaccinated and you will be fine. Parents will not be okay with going back to masks and that would be the majority of parents and not outliers.
