It’s frustrating that the forum moderator here erases any posts calling out the double standard with this study. I’d like to see a corresponding study on the left, on their obsession with ideological purity, litmus tests, and moral absolutism. I’d really love to just be able to write this post without the mod erasing it again. All I said was that the left has the same fervor as the right, just for other things, like their policies toward crime and education, but I guess my post was too much for this thread. It didn’t comport with the liberal narrative and was this deleted. Can’t risk jeopardizing those ad clicks from forum advertising I guess.
I personally come here to read and try to understand other viewpoints than my own, and I think the forum is much more interesting to read when there is a civil back and forth debating both sides, but the owner has the right to shape the opinions as they see fit. Sometimes things get off track of the original post, so I can see editing in those situations, but that is often not the case. I only come here/post sporadically now.
My post wasn’t off track. I merely posited that the left has become more liberal in the same sense as the right, just in different ways. Whereas controlling the voting booth, women's bodies, and white Christian nationalism has risen on the right. A similar fervor has been rising on the left, but it manifests itself on college campuses by mobs yelling down invited guests, or squelching honest discussion of crime or education policies from the left. They’ve gone so far afield into combating structural racism through a vague campaign of “equity”, that you can’t criticize them lest be called a racist. I’m saying when liberal da’s and liberal city councils propose pretty left wing nutty stuff like expanding the youth rehab act to cover 26 years olds, or paying millions for useless “violence interruptors” that don’t solve crime, rather than actually prosecuting and arresting in the face of rising crime there is an issue with those policies and they are super far left. Or canceling Gifted and talented classes, or making ap for all, or ending race neutral entrance exams for rigorous high schools simply to let more people in, regardless if they can actually handle the workload, it seems like bad policy. I’m also annoyed that saying the left is as morally rigid as the right leads to the post being deleted. It’s not off track with the thread. It’s on point: it’s just too tough a convo to have apparently and just goes back to left wing censorship. The left has swayed so far into s
We have the highest incarceration in the world, and high recidivism rates. Just sayin…
Cool. I’m sure I’ll be considering that of prime importance next time a 17 year old with a history of violence and a long arrest record hits me with a brick in the head, but is summarily arrested and immediately let off because of a lenient left wing judge or policy instituted by folks like Charles Allen. The left is willing to become so much more lenient in their quest. Im sure this post will be deleted, but it is germane to the discussion of both sides growing more in their own directions whichever that may be.
