I have a feeling Ludlow Taylor is likely also impossible. It’s just so depressing that the schools cannot accommodate all preschoolers that are inbounds. Not to mention the amount of fraud taking place when you see a fourth grader roll up in a car with MD plates. I will no doubt complain if a preschooler hops out too that could have taken a spot for my inbounds kid.
This is not true. I know multiple IB families without siblings who got into L-T for PK3 last year. As another poster mentioned, they have three PK3 classes. There will obviously be years with baby-booms that might make it hard, but as an IB family, you stand a very good chance. And to be honest? If you are IB for L-T and don't get in for PK, I don't really feel sorry for you at all. Same with folks at Maury or Brent. So you have to figure out two years of PK, no big deal. You can go to JO Wilson, Miner, Wheatley, one of the Apple Trees, or one of several decent private PKs in the area. You are guaranteed as spot at a a great school for K. The amount of whining I hear on the Hill about this is silly. It's preschool! Your kid will be fine. The fraud thing is different, I don't like that either. But you can't assume a kid getting out of a car with MD plates is out of boundary. A lot of families in this area have nannies, grandparents, or co-parents who live in MD. Doesn't mean they are OOB. You have to learn to be less suspicious than this because otherwise it's going to be a looooong haul in DCPS for you.
