I can still be a good mom and have good boundaries while also recognizing that ours is the closest and most important non-romantic relationship in my life.[/quote]

YES. This is perfect. This is how I feel about my adult daughters, especially my youngest (DD24). She's the person I'm most comfortable with, even though I have wonderful friends. I can be my most authentic self only with my DH and kids (and birth family).[/quote]
