[/quote] +1 this is how I feel as well (born and raised in CA, left for college, grad school and first few years of career before returning). Yes, plenty of things wrong with my state (wildfires, homelessness, housing costs, wealth disparity), but we have the fifth-largest GDP in the world (if we were a country) and there's nowhere else I'd rather live.
