Getting two boys into STA is next to impossible unless they can split the atom. I'm sorry OP. This process sucks.
Can you let me know why two boys applying for STA will get zero chance? Does it hurt to have two children applying for the same school at the same time even for different grades? Or it is just the case of STA? How about Sidwell? We were initially thinking that having two kids applying for the same school will increase the chance to get in. Maybe we should let the boys apply for different schools instead so that they have a better chance?
STA likely had 10 spots for 7th and 10 (none-boarding) for 9th. So it's really unlikely that they'll give 2/20 to one family. first of all, it's one less family for them to get money from. It would require your boys to be within the top 10 applicants for two different classes. Are both such rockstars that they can stand out among hundreds and be exactly the kid they're looking for in that grade? These schools fill classes by needs. Maybe 7th needs a basketball player and 9th needs a mathematician. It's hard for two kids from one family to match up to the needs. Ultimately, I'm sorry. Its a ridiculous process.
I have seen a few sets of brothers admitted. In each case, both boys were fully capable of perhaps being valedictorian of their STA class, perfect 1600 on SAT and taking such advanced Math classes that courses had to be practically created just for them and a few other students
