STA does not WL those that they would not consider qualified for Admission.

If I were in your shoes, I'd push hard for Sidwell - write a 1st choice letter indicating you will accept if offered off of the wait list up to the 1st day of school

yes, different poster.  My son was admitted to STA for 9th after getting waitlisted for 7th.  I really think this happens a lot.  We considered it a "3 year admissions plan".   :lol:

I am another one of the PP's who offered you encouragement.

Just to reiterate: if STA WL'd both of your boys, they like your family.

I said push hard for Sidwell for your rising 9th Grader because Sidwell WL  list is likely to move more than STA.

For your 7th grader, if you think STA is a great fit for them, do send a letter or call the AD and express that and say that you will re-apply. STA does not WL kids that, circumstances being slightly different they would not accept in any given year.
