It's not going to last.  They're able to do this because of the additional money available this year.  A few more years when budgets tighten again, class size will be back on the table. People don't realize how much all the salary increases along with having to hire the necessary staff to ensure those small class sizes cost and will increase over the years. [/quote]

Yes, and all the new development going is going to cause major increase to enrollment. Even if we have budget to decrease class sizes, we don't have the space. APS is a mediocre school district but will soon be just like Alexandria. [/quote]

But it’s probably correct. It takes time for what they’re building to actually be built, and then filled, and then for the kids to reach school age. And in the meantime, we have lost a lot of families to private school and they aren’t coming back, because while the pandemic drove them to private, they are finding even the BEST public is still not the same experience as private (people like to feel like they matter, and nobody matters to a public school they way they do to a place that exists based on getting those tuition $$). You don’t understand. People move into affordable housing WITH school age kids. That’s how they qualify [/quote]
