What I don't understand is that a school like Northwestern is such an elite school. Some of the most popular and strong majors are communication, psychology, journalism, drama, etc. These are starting salary after getting a degree: Journalism - $43100 https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?147767-Northwestern-University&fos_code=0904&fos_credential=3 Communication - $48041 https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?147767-Northwestern-University&fos_code=0901&fos_credential=3 Psychology - $38,048 https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?147767-Northwestern-University&fos_code=4201&fos_credential=3 Drama - $20,869 https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/school/?147767-Northwestern-University&fos_code=5005&fos_credential=3 These must be for rich people who seek prestige and don't care about money. Would any hard working tax paying middle class pay $300,000 for those degrees? Am I missing something?
Yes, you're missing that many people choose a college knowing they will attend graduate school so salary out of undergrad is not particularly important. Many people choose a college based on the education they will get and experience they will have. They don't look at college as a trade schoool.
So I'm not missing anytihng, and you are confirming it. From the beginning, these people plan to pour more money into grad school after alredy spendong $$$ for theses degrees. Whatever that experience is worth that much money for those people. So this is definitley not for hard working tax paying American middle class.
No, only for lazy, tax-avoiding middle class.
You sound like Marie Antoinette. Come out of your castle and get to know what real common people are like.
