We are talking about human beings here.

Nobody WANTS to be a criminal.  No child sets out to be a criminal when they grow up.

How about we try some understanding and empathy here, instead of the ham-fisted Lockemup! policies, which don’t work?[/quote]

I disagree that nobody wants to be a criminal as that lifestyle is glamorized. Understanding and empathy is what you employ after removing the person from the streets. It's not meant to give criminals carte blanche to victimize other citizens. Progressives right now are providing criminals with moral justification to steal and commit violence.[/quote]
