The outliers here are "freedom from paying taxes", and "freedom to own as many firearms as you can afford". Even in the case of environmental laws, or say, CAFE standards, "liberal" legislation is not a curtailment of freedom so much as a belief that negative externalities should be paid for. [/quote]
