I don’t support their behavior but you gotta know if you can dine in, it’s mask theater.
100%. You people need to get out of your little bubble. Millions upon millions of Americans and others worldwide are living mask free just fine. It is nothing but political mask theater at this point. I don't agree with what these people did, as if it is the rule, then you should comply, but the issue is why it is the rule. Cloth masks are pretty much useless. We are told if you are vaxed your chances of ending up in the hospital are extremely low, and it is always your option to continue wearing the mask if you are so unhealthy and/or so afraid. The areas of the country that have not and still do not have mask mandates have similar and in many cases better infection and death rates per capita as the areas with strict mask mandates.
You have a strange definition of “just fine.” There were 443,000 new infections yesterday and 2,600 new deaths. Yesterday alone. Perhaps instead of masks we should lock down for real?
There have been no better outcomes per capita in death rates in areas with strict lockdowns and mask policies compared to those without. Areas with high vaccinated rates/versus low and deaths, yes, there is a good argument to be had, but the rest of it is nothing more than a feel good, meaningless, visual reminder for everyone to be afraid and think the gov is doing something useful to combat COVID. Do you really think locking down some stores but keeping some open was accomplishing anything? It just concentrated everyone into the few stores that were open. Get your vaccine. Live your life. Mask if it makes you feel better, but your cloth mask we find out 2 years later is pretty much useless, so be sure to get your N95 and wear it properly.
Correct
