I might ask my kid to do so. Omicron rates are still very high, and we have a very high risk family member. I don't understand why other people are so threatened by what I ask my own child to do. I get that you might not want to wear a mask yourself. I'm not asking you to. I'm just asking that you leave my child alone. People constantly say that those of us who take a lot of precautions are anxious, but many people on this thread appear to be afraid of a piece of clothing that someone else's child is wearing. I'm taking an action that doesn't hurt you one bit, to prevent a rare but potentially devastating outcome. You're taking an action that belittles a child to prevent . . . well nothing. My child wearing a mask does nothing to you.
But in this situation, the parent of this child asked the instructor to don a mask, no? I do know people who do what is right for them and do not judge, however unfortunately I have found that heavy maskers are much more likely to push that upon others, in either direct ways, or indirect guilt trippy ways. I'm able to separate that, but other people might not be able to. Also if you are always masked and I never see your face when I see you, I tend to view those people as subhuman in a weird way, like Sims moving through a landscape. I can't see your face, your expressions, your emotions, can't relate to you, hence I struggle to care about you. Human psychology is powerful.
What are "heavy maskers"? As of course the second bolded part says a lot about you and a lot about what our country is going through. If we don't agree with you, we're "subhuman". And you say you "do not judge". Really?
