Never allow yourself to be dominated by a pet. A pet is supposed to enhance your life not make it worse.
A pet is a living being and some days it will make it "worse" and some days not. Get a plushie if you don't want an something to enhance your life at all times.
PP here. Sorry, but I stand by my comment. Any pet can cause problems on any given day, but they shouldn't dominate you. The idea for me, of having a pet is companionship, something to love and cuddle with and look after. It's supposed to be a blessing not a curse or something that decides whether it sleeps in my bed if I don't want it to. Cats don't have to sleep in your bed and I presume OP has to get a good nights sleep so she can go to work the next day to earn money to pay the bills. Get a backbone!
dp The idea that a living thing has to always "enhance" your life is what the pp is objecting to. My cats/dogs do not sleep in my bed and do not climb on the furniture BUT there are days they do try me! But then again even my spouse and kids do that!
