Because our system is pay to play the club has already been compensated (registration fees) and so the transaction is complete. There was a piece years back with Pulisic’s youth club that outlined this. There has been some movement to change this and there was a recent court case (Deandre Yedlin’s youth club team filed a lawsuit against I believe the Sounders) but that didn’t go anywhere.
