Eh, we moved our kids from DCPS to a Big3 for high school because DCPS is a freaking nightmare. there are missing teachers, my kids never learned to write, etc. We are so happy at the Big3. my kids are finally being challenged and are reading and writing. Those of you who have not experienced public do not know bad it is. It's BAD. It's almost third world. --disclaimer--your mileage may vary at other publics. this was Deal->Wilson in DCPS.
Well, your kids certainly weren't going to learn to write well from their parents. That's pretty obvious, Also, the irony here is that your kids, having done well enough at DCPS to be accepted at a Big3, would likely have excelled had they stayed with DCPS and in the end gotten into better colleges. But, hey, go ahead and put your nose up to Deal and Wilson.
I think you missed PP’s point. PP felt their kids weren’t learning how to write in DCPS. How is “You’re a bad writer and your kids would get into better colleges from DCPS!!” a reply to that? I’m amazed how many public school parents seem to think that great public schools college admissions are some sort of “gotcha” for private school parents. I am far more concerned about what my kid experiences during the 13 years of primary and secondary school than getting into very a shortlist of institutions for the four years of college.
