In my experience it is a LOT easier for people who have not know someone for a long time to use the preferred pronoun. As a parent, I slip a LOT. And it isn't because I am unsupportive. It is just an incredibly ingrained habit and way of viewing someone. I'm grateful my child understands this.[/quote]
