OP, listen to me carefully: thank you. I slept in my car off and on while I waitressed and bartended my way through college. I know about the burns and the jabbed fingers, sore feet, the crick in your neck that just gets worse as the night goes on. The absolute weirdness of a disproportionate reaction. The utter and complete tiredness. Thanks. Hope I get you serving my table. I'll say thank you then, too, and not just in words.
OP here! I sympathize. I can say that I've experienced all of that serving through my job, it truly takes stamina to make it through a busy shift, let alone some coworkers who have worked double-shifts. People might say, "why would you put yourself through this?" But what about all the other immigrants or lower-class people who NEED that money now and realistically don't have other options? I feel absolutely sorry for them. Some of us can't even afford college unless otherwise. I don't know what these rude people have done in their lifetimes to not experience true "hard work," whether it be mentally or physically demanding. Thank you for sharing your story as well.
