It’s not that he went back to work so soon after it happened, but that he was on his way back to NY when he got called back because his son was dying. It said in the article that the tumor got very aggressive around thanksgiving, and the baby’s health started to deteriorate. On Sunday, the parents took the baby to the beach, seemingly knowing that little time was left. Then, they headed back to NY for Nick’s show, but were called to come back.
