Definitely not underrated... maybe a little overrated, but it's a decent school. Just don't expect amazing exit opps or for many people to be "impressed" in the same way they might be for other top private schools.
Replying to your own thread?! We can tell because "exit oops" and "semi target" are part of the same pre-business lingo. Emory makes the too 25 for best wall street placement seen here... https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1010579.page
Definitely not the same person. But whatever makes you feel better. The truth is that Emory simply is not that elite. It’s a good school but it tends to get way overhyped on here for some reason.
If Emory isn't elite then Vanderbilt, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon and a host of other schools not ranked in the top 10 aren't either. Which is fine but just keeping you honest.
What? Cornell and Dartmouth are elite, no holds barred. But also, your point of comparisons don't even make sense. Emory isn't ranked above Vanderbilt, Cornell, or Dartmouth in any rankings.
there's no difference between schools ranked 11 to 25 or so. So if the school ranked 20 isn't elite then that must mean all of the schools in that group aren't.
You are delusional.
No it's you. Cornell is not Harvard. Employers will not see Cornell or Emory differently.
As an employer, I can tell you that we do. Doesn't mean that Emory isn't a decent school, but you're only embarrassing yourself.
I am speaking from experience. In final round interviews Cornell, Vandy, Georgetown whatever schools pp listed would not tip the scale. Also, https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1010579.page They're all ranked similarly.
In both academia and the workforce, Cornell is undeniably viewed a step (or two) above Emory. I'm not even a Cornell alum or have any relation to the school, but come on. You just sound desperate. It's actually a little sad.
You repeating yourself over and over on this thread doesn't change facts and real data. How would you know the market of academia AND THE entire workforce? Don't know what hard-on you have for Emory this Tuesday but that's what's truly embarrassing. You must have gone to NYU or Tufts or something. No HYP grad has Emory on their mind.
