That means there's still 600 teachers in our schools who still aren't fully vaccinated. Even though they became eligible for the vaccine nine months ago. And even though they're around lots of children who haven't yet had an opportunity to get themselves vaccinated. It's really appalling. [/quote]

I don’t know why everyone seems to be missing this, but the statistic is about STAFF. That includes support staff, administrative staff, custodians, cafeteria workers, etc.

Less highly educated support staff may be more likely to be persuaded by misinformation that has fueled vaccine hesitancy. Large pockets of DC are still suspicious — in Ward 8, the vaccination rate is 28%.

It’s still a public health problem to tackle, but I suspect a smaller proportion of the vaccine hesitant are educators vs. support staff.[/quote]

Thanks for pointing this out. The people who traditionally post on this board aren’t going to be affected by people being fired. Our school is 100% vaxxed. I’m sure the same is true for Murch and Lafayette, Deal etc

It’s a shame that everything covid related is so badly “marketed” communicated etc. that this is where we are. The vaccine was created by a black woman. [/quote]
