Yep.  Am not enthralled by her and thinks she is far too "Green Team" in cronyism, but at least she's not completely insane.  A DC controlled by Robert White and the current council will put us right up there with Portland and San Francisco as cities which have been made uninhabitable by progressive politics.

And given that the federal government today put out guidance encouraging more work from home, DC is about to get much, much worse.  The CBD is a ghost town because the federal government has not gone back to work.  It took decades for the downtown east of 14th Street to return to being a functioning business district and that has now cratered.  We have not yet begun to see the economic fallout for the District from the "work from home" juggernaut.  And with the hollowing out of downtown we are going to see increased crime and vagrancy and substantially decreased tax revenue---sales taxes, real estate taxes (the value of those empty office buildings will fall, thus less RE tax revenue), etc.  And eventually, even though neighborhoods like the Wharf and Navy Yard are still building, the trickle-down will start to be felt in the neighborhoods.  People flocked to the cities in the last 20 years to avoid long commutes.  No commute  = no need to flock, especially as millennials all start having kids and needing good schools.  
The progressives on the Council may disdain all those money-grubbing capitalists with the expensive office space downtown, but without them there isn't any $$ to fund all those social programs.[/quote]
