OP here. Yes I'll be working, my job can be done anywhere and it's not difficult to get a visa. I want to be able to date but also I just want to experience something different that my small down suburban life I've been living for the last 30+ decades. My actual options are UK London , Yorkshire, and Glasgow. Paris, France Madrid, Spain Aukland, New Zealand Rome, Italy Accra, Ghana
I have been to almost all those places. Forgot about the UK unless you like living in a place that gets dark by about 4 PM for much of the year. Glasgow is charming but it would depress the heck out of me to live there. I’m not a huge fan of Paris, it’s overrun by tourists and locals who hate tourists. Unless you speak impeccable French they will shun you. Madrid — eh. I could leave this. Did not like how aggressive the men are. Kind of has this stodgy, conservative side with old ladies in fur coats. Pass. Auckland, NZ — now you’re talking. This would be a beautiful place to live. Kiwis are kind, well traveled, sincere… Auckland is lovely and again so much beautiful countryside. Rome — I love Rome. I can’t help it. It’s like that guy you know you shouldn’t fall for but every time he walks past you go weak in the knees. You would be swept away here by pleasure and beauty. If you like pizza, if you like gelato, if you like walking around gorgeous piazzas at night seeing gorgeous men, if you like art and gardens and sculpture and pasta and overlong meals and zooming around on scooters… you will love it here. There are two kinds of people in the world, those who like Paris over Rome and those who like Rome over Paris. Choose carefully. Accra Ghana, don’t know but I hear it is fun and full of energy. Nightlife. As a woman, though, and a single woman, I’d definitely check out the culture and gender issues as it may be more traditional than other places on your list.
