It doesn’t target her because of her politics, so I would say it it’s apolitical. Her clothes have become less a maverick’s (in her mind, anyway) expression and more of a teenaged-level stupid rebellion, as if she’s trying to see what she can get away with. The bright colors were one thing and I think that’s something that is an appropriate shake-up of the traditional “if it looks like a man would wear it, it’s business appropriate,” but the short skirts, the denim… they really bespeak a person who is giving a middle finger to everyone.
