Do we really think the big developers of the Wharf + owners of Nats Stadium and Audi Field will be represented by Trayon White in the Council? The Lerner family taking meetings with that fool?!? No way in hell. They will remain Ward 6. Hill East is gone, tho. They better get accustomed to calling Council Member White's office.
PP here and I would LOVE to see the Wharf and Stadium area dealing with Trayon White! And then I would like it even more when that big money comes to get him off of the Council.
Stupid question but would redistricting like this do? How would it affect life? I don’t get it. What are the negative aspects if parts of navy yard go to ward 8? How does that affect them? Does it really? Would it mean like more taxes or less services or what. Please explain like I am 5 about wealthy areas being redistricting to poorer parts of the city.
The wealthier parts of the city will be neglected by the White. He doesn't need their votes to win. White's constituent services are abysmal at best, so good luck getting help with whatever municipal issue you're dealing with. The needs of Ward 8's residents could be anymore different than the UMC homeowners of Ward 6. Frankly, I don't think White's office will even be able to handle the influx of calls & requests from current Ward 6 residents. Basically, you're on your own.
Trayon already stops caring about you if you live north of Good Hope Road SE in his current ward, because that's the "rich" section of Ward 8 (it's also the section that doesn't vote for him in droves). He certainly is not going to send any care across the river if/when Ward 8 absorbs the southern portion of Ward 6.
